FOCUS & PROGRAMS  At BioSciences Foundation of India (BSFIndia), we have formed a consortium of best brains from academia, industry, governmental and media each recognizing the strength of other sector and benefits of working together. Team at BSFIndia is committed to design and execute various programs, strategies and projects contributing towards development of India's strength in area of Biosciences and emphatically supporting its aspirations to become world leader in the field.
Under the guidance of our honorable 'Advisor Board', team at BSFIndia is working on following programs to promote education and research in field of Biosciences which also has strong relevance to India's healthcare sector. A) Promotion of Biosciences education: Awards for Excellence in Biosciences: Instituting 5 Awards of Rs.10,000 each, annually, for bright and talented young students, researchers and scientists in area of Biosciences.
- Social awareness programs: Organizing workshops/ seminars/awareness programs for common Indian populations on topic having great social relevance such as Health and Nutrition, Maternal and Child Health, Health and Hygiene etc.
B) Promoting Infrastructure Development and Modern Education techniques in Very Rural Schools Gramin Prashala Vikas Yojana: BioSciences Foundation of India (BSFIndia) has initiated a unique “Gramin Prashala Vikas Yojana” (Rural School Development Scheme) to promote and support development of very rural schools lacking basic infrastructure facilities. Under this scheme, BSFIndia plans to help rural schools procure or develop required infrastructure (e.g. Computers, audio-visual technologies like LCD projector and sound systems, good quality blackboards, desks, classrooms, etc.) for imparting high quality education to their students. We also plan to conduct quality enhancement training programs for the teachers from the rural settings.
C) Promotion of Research in Biosciences: Designing new cost effective diagnostic tests or assays: To execute research project which have great relevance to India's health care sector e.g.: Designing cost-effective diagnostic kits, assays and protocols for common Indian disease using latest concepts and technology in the field of Biosciences.
Screening and standardizing Indian alternative medicines: Ayurveda and Unani drugs / formulations have tremendous potential to influence global healthcare sector. But standardization of these preparations (in contrast to Chinese traditional medicine) using modern scientific methodologies and techniques is still missing. At BSFIndia we will focus on screening and standardizing these formulation using latest concepts and assays in field of Immunology, Cell Culture, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Virology and Biotechnology for various patho-physiological conditions, diseases and disorders. Our attempt is to bridge Modern Sciences with Indian traditional Medicine System.
Organizing scientific workshops/seminars: BSFIndia also aims to promote scientific interactions among Indian and International scientists/researchers working in the field of Biosciences (Immunology, Vaccinology, Molecular biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Clinical Research, Nanotechnology) by creating a platform in form of workshops, seminar and symposia.
