How to Apply
Under "Gramin Prashala Vikas Yojana", BSFIndia aims at helping as many very rural needy schools as possible. The schools should mail "Request for Support" on their letterhead to "The President, BSFIndia, G-206, Bharati Vihar, Survey No-78, Katraj, Pune-411046".
On receipt of the "Request for Support" letter, the Board of trustees of BSFIndia will critically evaluate the request and will take appropriate decision based on the need and available funding.
Please Note
- BSFIndia, still being a budding NGO has very limited funding and has currently decided to help only one or two schools per year.
- As per the policy, BSFIndia will not entertain any request from schools for donations/support in cash.
- BSFIndia does not assures help to every school making application/request for support.
- Decision of Board of Trustees will be final and will be binding on the school seeking support.
- BSFIndia also reserves the rights to periodically check/examine the actual utility of the donated instruments/facilities by the school.
School Selected for Year 2008
Krantivir Vasudev Balwant Phadke Smriti Vidyalay (KVBPSV), Rawadi
During the period of May-June 2008, Trustees of BSFIndia visited various very rural schools and analyzed them for available infrastructure and dedicated teaching and management staff. On detailed analysis, BSFIndia decided to help “Krantivir Vasudev Balwant Phadke Smriti Vidyalay (KVBPSV)” at Rawadi, Post: Chikhalgaon, Taluka: Bhor, Pune-412206.
KVBPSV had received few old computers in donation from a big software company, hence Mr. Madhumilind Mehendale, Headmaster KVBSV, requested BSFIndia to donate an LCD projector and a big screen which will enable them to show their students interactive "Education CDs" in big groups. Mr. Mehendale has very progressive mindset and is keen on using modern educational concepts, methodology and technology for teaching his students. As we also are aware of the impact created by multimedia on students mind, we decided to accepted KVBPSV’s request of an LCD projector and big screen.
Donation Ceremony
BSFIndia raised funding through donations and then gifted an brand new high quality LCD projector (Hitachi) and a big screen (4 feet x 6 feet) to KVBPSV on 26th July 2008 in presence of emminent personalities like Mr. Saurabh Gadgil of PNG Jewelers, eminent educationalist Mr.Prabhakar Limaye and Mr. Yamaji Malkar, editor Sakal Newspaper. The function was also attended by many supporters of BSFIndia like Dr. Praful Chitnis (Associate Technologies), Mr.Sagar Shinde (Pavan Industrial Estate), Mr. Mayuresh Kikle (Mayuresh Enterprises) and Ms. Shubhangi Borade.
Talking to students, Mr.Gadgil emphasized on the need of computer literacy for every Indian and expressed his happiness over BSFIndia’s initiative to help develop rural schools. Mr.Yamaji Malkar, during his interaction also got very easily connected with the student and explained them in very simplistic terms importance of quality education and stressed on positive thinking and progressive attitude towards life. Mr.Limaye discussed at length, with students, about various career and self employment opportunities available on completion of basic schooling and how they can continue learning while earning simultaneously.
Also during the ceremony, the Guests distributed 80 Compass Boxes, 300 "Abhyas Kasa Karawa" Books (donated by Anmol Prakashan, Pune), 600 Notebooks (donated by Crown Publication) and academic books worth Rs. 2500 for library (donated by Diamond Publication) to economically backward and needy students.
